WEBER COUNTY, Utah, Feb. 7, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Logan Canyon has reopened after an avalanche hit and crossed U.S. Highway 89 Tuesday, according to tweets from the Utah Department of Transportation.

The canyon was closed from Logan to Garden City, but UDOT tweeted Wednesday morning the avalanche has been cleared and all lanes are open.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 4 a.m. Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, the mountains north of Interstate 70 is the area being affected.

Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet are expected, with the greatest accumulations across the northern Wasatch and Western Uinta Mountains, especially those areas favored in a southwest to westerly flow.
