OGDEN, Utah, July 30, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — An Ogden City Police officer driving south on Monroe Boulevard Tuesday morning was struck when a passenger vehicle reportedly ran a stop sign and hit the side of the patrol vehicle.

The incident happened at about 7:58 a.m. at the intersection of 21st Street and Monroe Boulevard, an OCPD statement says.

The impact on the patrol vehicle caused “it to spin off the road and into a building located in the 2100 block of Monroe Boulevard,” the statement says. “The Utah Highway Patrol responded to investigate the incident.

“There were multiple witnesses, and the driver of the passenger vehicle (a male in his early 50s) admitted to driving through the stop sign without stopping.”

That man was cited for a stop sign violation, the police statement says.

“Both the driver of the passenger vehicle as well as the officer were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.”
