TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Oct. 14, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — An Ogden woman was arrested after she allegedly was found sitting on top of her 21-year-old boyfriend, who had a gunshot wound to his neck.
Ariana Aguilar, 44, was taken into custody and booked into the Salt Lake County jail for investigation of murder and aggravated burglary, both listed as first-degree felonies.
The investigation began after Taylorsville Police were dispatched at 3:39 a.m. Sunday to an address in the area of 2200 West and 4100 South. It was listed as a medical call.
“When the officers arrived, they found people leaving the house,” Aguilar’s affidavit says. “(Police officers) entered and found Ariana Aguilar on top of Jorge Llamas-Galaviz who was laying on a bed in the bedroom with a gunshot wound to his neck.
“Ariana left the bedroom as officers checked on Jorge, whom they found to be unresponsive. Paramedics confirmed he was deceased.”
Officers then found Aguilar “fighting with another female in the house. Ariana was detained and taken to the police station; she had blood on her hands.”
Witnesses say there was a party at the house earlier, and that Aguilar had gotten into a fight with Llamas-Galaviz and had struck him.
“Ariana left the house and returned some time later with two males and another female. Ariana and the other three pushed their way into the home and in Jorge’s room, first voices then a gunshot was heard. The two males and a female who came with Ariana fled the house; Ariana remained.”
Officers canvassed the neighborhood and found video that showed a red sedan parked nearby. They (saw) three persons walk back to the red sedan after the shooting and leave, the affidavit says.
Later, Ogden City Police officers found the red Chevy Cruze parked in front of Aguilar’s residence, in the 800 block of 27th Street.
“Contact was made with Ariana’s daughter, Natalie Aguilar, who admitted her mother, Ariana, called her from Jorge’s house asking for a ride,” the affidavits say. “She came with three juveniles in her mother’s red Chevy Cruze. Eventually Natalie admitted entering Jorge’s house with the juveniles, Ariana forced the door open so they could enter. Natalie said a shot was fired and she fled back home with the juveniles.”
Police arrested Natalie Aguilar, 19, for investigation of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony.
Three teenage males were also taken into custody and booked into a detention center. Their names have not been released due to their juvenile status.
Post Miranda, Ariana Aguilar said she had been in a sexual relationship with Llamas-Galaviz.
“She claimed he got angry with her over something, put her property outside of his door, and told her to leave. Ariana said she called her daughter Natalie to come and pick her up, but that Natalie never arrived.
“Ariana claimed to be standing outside of the residence, about 15 feet away at a park. She never saw anyone else enter or exit Jorge’s home when she heard a single gunshot. She entered Jorge’s home and saw he’d been shot in the neck so she held pressure on his neck until the police arrived. Ariana denied having anything to do with Jorge’s death.
“When confronted, Ariana admitted she forced Jorge’s front door back open and entered his house without being invited with her daughter, Natalie,” the affidavit says. “Ariana then asked for an attorney.”
Relatives of Llamas-Galaviz then contacted police, “and said his family was notified of Jorge’s murder, and that they’d received some type of recording with Ariana saying she (and the younger males) killed Jorge.”
Both mother and daughter were ordered held without bail.
