SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 26, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Transit Authority has confirmed one person died Tuesday night after being struck by a TRAX train.
Remi Barron, UTA spokesman, said the incident happened near the 900 East Union Station, just west of 1100 East and 500 South. A bus bridge was set up in both directions, at the Stadium TRAX stations and 900 East.
“Early indications tell us this may have been intentional,” Barron said. “This is not an area where many people actually cross for TRAX.”
Barron said details will not be released until the investigation is complete “… to respect the privacy of the victim and their family.”
