Injured With His Own Vehicle in Sugar House Hit and Run

SUGAR HOUSE, UTAH – August 27, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – SLCPD is searching for a suspect after a pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by his own vehicle in Sugar House yesterday.

The driver fled the scene of the accident, which happened near 2010 S. 1300 East,  around 3:45 p.m.

Police said a 34-year-old male noticed his stolen vehicle in traffic at the above address as it was being driven by a male suspect. The victim approached the stopped vehicle and attempted to remove the suspect.  An altercation ensued and the suspect was able to drive away, dragging the victim who eventually lost his grip and fell to the asphalt, striking his head on the ground. The victim was transported in serious condition, but later upgraded to stable. This case is still under investigation.

Police said the suspect was driving a maroon 1999 Subaru Outback with Utah license plate B92 8CF. The suspect is a white male, 25-30 years old, with short hair and a thin build. There is no clothing description yet.
