SANDY, Utah, Nov. 21, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday night at a Holiday Sinclair gas station.
Sandy Police Sgt. Jason Nielsen told Gephardt Daily the 911 call came in at about 10:30 p.m., reporting a man with a gun had entered the store, at 153 W. 9000 South, and demanded money from the clerk.
The man then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Nielsen said the suspect was “covered very well” in dark clothing, which made it difficult to determine his age or ethnicity; however, he did not speak with an accent.
Viewing surveillance video will be part of the investigation, Nielsen said.
The man was last seen running southwest through the station’s parking lot. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a vehicle somewhere in the area.
Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to call Sandy Police Department at 801-799-3000.
