RICHFIELD, Utah, April 22, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A 54-year-old man died after being ejected in a crash between a car and a UTV on Monday afternoon, police said.

Emergency dispatchers received a call about 4:10 p.m. regarding a crash involving a car and a UTV near 1100 S. Main St., the Richfield City Police Department said in a news release.

The driver of the UTV made a left turn in front of a Hyundai Elantra, which struck the UTV broadside and caused the vehicle to roll, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

“The 54-year-old male driver of the UTV was not restrained and was ejected,” UHP said in a news release.

Richfield police say the man was transported to Sevier Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A pregnant woman in the Elantra was taken to the hospital as a precaution, according to UHP.

Main Street was closed from 1000 South to 1200 South while officials investigated the crash.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
