SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 1, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) – Police are searching for a suspect who fired shots in the air at a house party west of the University of Utah early Friday morning.
According to a campuswide alert issued at 4:43 a.m. Friday, the suspect was last seen driving toward campus eastbound on 400 South in a white Nissan Altima.
“Police are actively looking for an individual who fired a gun in the vicinity of 400 South Douglas Street. The gun was fired into the air, and no one was injured,” the alert said.
The individual is described as a male wearing camouflage and a black ski mask.
“If the suspect or vehicle is seen, do not approach, and contact police immediately.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the University of Utah Police Department at 801-585-COPS, the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000, or 911, according to the alert.
