WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – September 8, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Police are looking for three suspects after shots were fired near Everest College at 3280 West 3500 South in West Valley City.

Eyewitness Katie Erickson said she was afraid for her life after one suspect started shooting at a car.

“I was at the bus stop getting off the bus when I heard fighting and yelling at the Holiday gas station,” Erickson said. “I saw a white car driving behind the Everest College building, then they parked and they started getting out of the car, yelling and swearing. Then a guy got out of another car and stated walking towards the other car, and he had a gun. When the other guys got in the car, he started shooting—a lot of rounds—and they drove off. I was so scared, I ran away. I was crying, I’m just glad I’m alive. I didn’t think this would happen here.”

Roxeanne Vainuku, the West Valley City Police Department spokesperson, confirmed one man was in the first vehicle and two men were in the second vehicle, and that they exchanged words, leading to shots being fired. Both cars appeared to have temporary tags, so police do not have a great deal of information to go on, but they do have descriptions of the men and the vehicles.

The first man, thought to be the shooter, is described as being in his mid-20s, Polynesian, with long hair, driving a mid-2000s gold full-size Tahoe or Yukon. The other two men are described as in their mid-20s, Hispanic, with bald heads, wearing white T-shirts and driving a newer model white Chevy Malibu.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to call West Valley City Police at (801) 840-4000.
