OGDEN, UTAH – September 21, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Deputies have arrested two suspects and are looking for a third after a man was found shot in an Ogden apartment Sunday.
Deputies responded to a 911 call at the Lake Park Apartments, 4980 South 350 East at 1:42 p.m. yesterday after a resident reported a male had been shot.
When deputies arrived, they found a 19-year-old with a gunshot wounds to his torso and right thigh.
Detectives were later able to determine that three men, William Matthew Robert Lehmiller, 21, of Clearfield, Alfredo Arellano, 21, of Clinton, and Otrael Daequann Tatum, 22, of North Carolina, intentionally went to the apartment in an attempt to rob the victim.
Detectives believe that the three disguised themselves as wanting to buy marijuana from the victim and when they arrived, Arellano entered the apartment first, followed by Tatum. Tatum and the victim immediately got into an altercation and it is alleged Tatum shot the victim twice at close range before he fled the scene in a vehicle driven by Lehmiller.
The victim was shot in his right thigh and upper torso and was pistol whipped on his forehead. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives were able to track down Lehmiller and Arellano and both were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery; they are still looking for Tatum.
According to detectives, Tatum recently moved from North Carolina and was residing at a home on Quincy Avenue in Ogden. They believe he is still in the area and is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
Tatum is described as a black male, 5′ 7″ tall, medium build, with short, black hair and brown eyes.
