HERRIMAN, Utah, Nov. 28, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Dani Lama, who describes herself as a physic medium, says she’s shared her abilities to help more than 2,000 people in 2024.
But she hopes that number will increase Monday night at Redemption Bar & Grill in Herriman, when she’ll spend two hours “reading the room” to help people gather insights on how to be their best selves in 2025.
“I have had a lot of intuition my whole life, and it’s about just embracing who you are without fear of criticism,” she said. “And my passion is helping people to see who they are, so that they can embrace themselves, to change the game of their life, and to honestly, as cheesy it sounds, to make the world a better place. If they’re better, then the world is better.
“And I guess we just learn what it is that we’re here to be and do and find joy in the lessons and release in the pain that we’ve been through to get those lessons.”
Dani Lama (Lama is a stage name) says she uses her strong intuition, along with the numbers in her subject’s birthday, and occasional prompting from the subject’s departed friends or relatives, to help people see their strengths and what obstacles may be holding them back from a more satisfying life.
She knows, of course, that many people regard her line of work with skepticism, and that’s OK. Her number one rule is to do no harm, she says. She welcomes both people who may come to a group reading with just entertainment in mind, and those willing to be gobsmacked when she mentions the name of a deceased relative or some other fact she has no reasonable way of knowing.
Dani Lama (website: danilama.net) says she does group readings at Redemption about once a month. People buy tickets, $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and those willing to be read write down their names and put the papers in a bowl, from which she chooses names at random.
“Then we just draw names until I run out of time,” she said. The event is scheduled for two hours.
“I don’t always get to read everybody, but I try to get everybody done,” she said. “There’s a lot of ways that mediums work a room, and I could do it blind and just start reading the room, but I like to be very energy specific. So if I pull your name through, it gives your loved ones and yourself the knowledge that it is 100% your turn right now, and anything that comes through is 100% for you.
“It’s not just me saying ‘you with the broken wrist,’ and saying a name or situation and hoping someone catches on.”
That would be misleading, she said.
“Me being considered a charlatan is one of the things I’ve always been afraid of, so that’s why I held my gifts off for so long.”
Dani Lama said she consults with the dead, “but only if it helps the living. Sometimes people miss somebody so much that they feel like they can’t go on. So if I’m able to bring in signs and symbols or remembering the name of the family dog, which I shouldn’t know, or about a bracelet that’s lost, or just little things like that that I shouldn’t know, it is a reminder that those we have lost are still with us. And that gives people courage and strength to keep going.”
Dani Lama said she also bartends on Sundays, two floors up from Redemption’s basement stage venue, past the main floor sports bar and inside the dedicated tiki bar on the second floor. That event is playfully named Eggs Over Medium. Between 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sundays, she fills drink orders and consults with brief readings for those who are interested.
“Customers can come and get to know me and get a vibe for me, and also just have a nice little brunch breakfast and just kind of have a good time. That’s kind of my energy, anyway, as a person. So people generally like to come when I’m bartending to just talk. I’m a good conversationalist, and I’m good at reading people, but in a way that helps them, not manipulates them.”
But for seeing a group reading and how multiple people react to their personalized messages, the Monday event, titled New Year “Soul” Stice with Psychic Medium Dani Lama, is probably the best way to go.
“I’m just really good at just listening and being unafraid to say what comes to my heart and mind, and people have a lot of healing and a lot of release, and they feel better, and I can’t take credit, because I feel like I’m just saying what comes to me. But if that’s if that helps the world, and with everything that I’ve been through in my life, I’ve come from deep waters myself, being able to be empathetic and to understand that we’re all in it together, and life is just a little nuts, but it’s a half a little bit of purpose and meaning as to what we went through and why we went through it.
“Well, then our soul has a purpose that has meaning. Sometimes, learning the lesson that we needed to learn is winning, right.”
