PINTURA, Utah, Oct. 9, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — An elderly man is dead after the truck he was driving, towing a double-axel camp trailer, rolled on southbound Interstate 15 in Pintura on Monday.
The man was driving a 2008 Ford pickup, pulling the trailer,Ā southbound when it rolled at milepost 32 at approximately 11:49 a.m., Lt. Todd Royce, spokesman for the Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily.
“The driver lost controlĀ of the vehicle and went off the road left, striking the guardrail,” a Utah Highway Patrol report said. “The driver corrected to the left, and then over-corrected to the right.
“The vehicle went off the road to the right and went up a dirt embankment. The vehicle rolled onto its driver side and the trailer rolled onto its top. As the vehicle rolled the driver was ejected out of the driver side window.”
A medical helicopter responded to the scene, but the driver, 81-year-old Edwin L Smith, of Grover. Wyo., died at the scene. It appears he was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the UHP statement.

I completely agree, as this man was my father. Thank you for bringing that up because there is far more behind this story. Thank you Rick Stewart, and feel free to comment further, as there was a man and his son who posted in the Deseret News post as well.
