Roy resident Dean Eldon Jones, who was convicted previously of sexual abuse, was booked into Weber County Jail on Thursday, and is being held on $40,000 bail.
According to a probable cause statement, Jones is accused of abusing a girl younger than 13 four times between July 1 and Oct. 15 in the basement of his home. The victim told her parents on Nov. 1 that Jones had touched her private parts beneath her clothing, according to the statement.
A video arraignment for Jones is scheduled for Monday. The first-degree felony counts he faces are punishable by up to life in prison.
