ROY, Utah, Oct. 14, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Roy City Police Department is investigating the death of a 22-month-old girl as a case of child abuse homicide.
The department said in a news release that at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the area of 5000 S. 3100 West to assist the Roy Fire/EMS Department during a medical call involving the unconscious child.
The toddler was transported to a local hospital, then flown by medical helicopter to a Salt Lake City area hospital. She died the next day.
The victim’s body had numerous visible injuries that appeared consistent with child abuse, according to the news release.
This case is still under investigation and no arrest has been made. Information regarding the identity of the suspect or suspects, victim and injuries has not been released.
