SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 3, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are investigating a Glendale neighborhood shooting Friday that sent a 38-year-old man to the hospital in serious condition.

The SLCPD PR Unit issued a press release, saying the investigation began at 3:51 p.m. after emergency operators received calls about a shooting near 1700 S. Prospect Street.

Arriving officers provided “life-saving aid” before the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he has since been reported in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, officers believe the 38-year-old man got into an argument with several other people. The fight escalated into a shooting.”

The assailants “took off” and “the shooting appears to be an isolated incident,” the PR Unit statement says.

“Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 801-799-3000. Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have photos or video of the moments leading up to, during, or after the shooting.”

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information is made available.
