SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City firefighters responded to a report of smoke and flames in an empty commercial structure just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Audra Sorenson, Salt Lake City Fire Department spokeswoman, said the fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.

“They got there really fast,” she said. “It didn’t spread into the roof or anything like that.”

The address initially was called in as 940 W. North Temple, but Sorenson said that was later amended.

The building is unoccupied, so there were no evacuations and no one was injured.

Sorenson said the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
