SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 30, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A San Juan County man has been booked into jail for alleged sexual exploitation of a minor.
John Kelly Black, 66, was booked for investigation of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.
Black was investigated after police got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. His affidavit says Black’s social media counts contained files depicting adults sexually abusing children, one estimated to be about 2 years old.
A search warrant was issued on Black’s residence and electronics on Monday evening.
“Post Miranda Warning, John admitted to owning the reported social media account along with the associated email address. John admitted to having a severe pornography addiction and sending and receiving intimate images … on the social media platform. John admitted to receiving intimate images of other individual’s wives and child sexual abuse material.
“John admitted he spends a substantial amount of his day looking at pornography and receiving it from others.”
Black said he was “unaware the images he saved on his phone automatically uploaded to the social media company.”
Black was previously convicted of possessing illegal pornograph in 2002.
