SANTAQUIN, Utah, Aug. 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — All lanes of Interstate 15 northbound are closed after a semi crashed and spilled fuel near Santaquin Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

A Facebook post from Santaquin City Fire at 2:30 p.m. said traffic from northbound I-15, south of exit 244, is being diverted onto Main Street due to the semi crash.

“No injuries, however, the freeway is closed due to a fuel spill,” the post said. “We’re mopping as fast as we can.”

Traffic getting on I-15 from 244 is normal in both directions, the post added.

A tweet from the Utah Department of Transportation said motorists can exit at 242 to Mona Road to get back on I-15 at 244, just north of the crash.

The tweet said delays are expected in the area, and it’s not known at this time when the freeway will reopen.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
