SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah. Nov. 1, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A semi jack-knifed and blocked multiple lanes of Interstate 15 near 2100 South early Thursday morning.
A news release from the Utah Highway Patrol said a semi with a 53-foot trailer was traveling onto I-15 northbound from I-80 westbound at approximately 4:30 a.m.
“It was raining lightly and the semi lost control and went across I-15, striking the concrete barrier in the median,” the news release said. “The semi jack-knifed blocking the HOV lane, lanes one, two and three. The semi lost a large amount of oil and diesel which was all over the lanes.”
The driver was not injured and the passenger was transported to an area hospital with a cut on his arm.
The semi was hauling produce, officials said.
