SLCPD arrests man, seizes more than 600 fentanyl pills

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 5, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Salt Lake City seized more than 600 fentanyl pills Friday, the department announced Monday.

At 5:12 p.m. Friday, Salt Lake City Police officers made a traffic stop for a moving violation at 850 S. Main., in the city’s Ballpark neighborhood.

“During the investigation, officers found cash, fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia inside the car,” the SLCPD news release says.

“Officers cited the driver and arrested the passenger, 41-year-old William Binkard on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.”

Actual charges will be determined by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office.
