SLCPD Gang Unit investigating after woman hit by bullet shot at house

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 11, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Police Department’s Gang Unit is investigating a shooting that injured a 55-year-old woman in the Glendale neighborhood.

Salt Lake City police were alerted by dispatch at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, and responded to the area of Concord Street and California Avenue, in the city’s Glendale neighborhood.

“Officers arrived and learned two people approached a house and started shooting into it,” the SLCPD statement says.

“At least one of the rounds fired traveled into the home, hitting the 55-year-old woman. Paramedics took the woman to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”

The motive for the shooting is unknown, the statement says.

The Salt Lake City Police Department’s Gang Unit is leading the investigation. No arrests have been made.
