LOGAN, Utah, April 9, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Smithfield man has confessed to abusing a 9-year-old girl.
Tyler Ray Miles, 49, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony. In exchange for his plea, Miles will have a second identical charge dismissed with prejudice, and will be able to forgo a trial that had been set for April 30.
Sentencing is set for June 3.
The charges stemmed from an incident in January 1, 2018. According to reports, the child abused was an acquaintance of Tyler’s.
