ST. GEORGE, Utah, Aug. 27, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in St. George say they intend to file a warrant of arrest and criminal charges for David Remley after he allegedly drove away with a woman and her three children after she had filed a restraining order against him following a family fight.

David Gene Remley, 37, was found in the car with the missing 27-year-old woman and her children, after her vehicle was spotted Aug. 20, Tuesday of last week, by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The mother and children were found unhurt. Remley was taken into custody. St. George Police said last week that Remley was driving the woman’s vehicle, and had checked her children out of their daycare.

Remley remains incarcerated in the Humboldt County Jail, in Winnemucca, Nevada.

“Detectives have identified sufficient evidence to seek criminal charges against David Remley for his involvement in the incident,” says a statement issued by the St. George Police Department.

“Due to David’s current incarceration in Nevada, investigators are applying for an arrest warrant to include the following offenses: child kidnapping — three counts; aggravated kidnapping; violation of a protective order; unauthorized control of a motor vehicle; assault.”

As in all cases, charges will be determined by the county attorney’s office if the case goes to trial.

Remley’s Utah convictions include violation of a protective order in February of 2022, and criminal mischief: intentional damage in November of 2012.
