SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man who was previously convicted of harassing a Utah TV personality now faces new charges of sending pornography to another woman.
Charging documents from the 3rd District Court of Salt Lake County said Manuel Alex Hernandez, Jr., 27, of Ogden, has been charged with five counts of pornography distribution, a third-degree felony.
From July 23 to Nov. 20, Hernandez sent a woman approximately 20 pornographic videos of himself as well as sexually explicit messages on her social media account, according to charging documents.
The probable cause statement said the woman reported that on or about between July 23 of this year and November 20, in Salt Lake County, an individual later identified as the suspect messaged her on her Instagram, saying “Hey, my stunning wifey,” and other more sexually explicit phrases. He also asked her to take part in sexual acts. He also allegedly sent her multiple videos and photos exposing his genitals. The woman said she received some sexually explicit videos in which Hernandez’s face can be seen.
A Salt Lake City police detective reviewed the videos, then interviewed Hernandez.
Police were able to identify the suspect because of their work on a previous case involving a Salt Lake TV personality. Hernandez had allegedly been sending sexually explicit messages to the woman through social media for approximately two years, even though a restraining order had been filed against him, said a 3rd District Court warrant.
Hernandez was convicted of electronic communication harassment, a class B misdemeanor, in 2017, after he sent messages to that same TV personality.
Hernandez is currently in the Box Elder County Jail after being convicted of attempted possession of a forgery device, a class A misdemeanor.
His bail has been set at $25,000.
