SPRINGVILLE, Utah, June 15, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews rescued a Provo 16-year-old who suffered a broken leg when a large boulder fell Friday evening in Spanish Fork Canyon.
Utah County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue crews responded about 7:22 p.m. to the Red Ledges in Diamond Fork Canyon to assist the injured teen.
Spanish Fork Police, Fire and EMS also responded, and the Utah Department of Public Safety used its helicopter to host the teen to safety.
The rescue took more than three hours, according to sheriff’s office. The teen was transported by ambulance to Utah Valley Hospital with a broken femur.
