Utah Teens Involved In Head-On Collision

ROCKVILLE, UTAH – July 21, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Two people have been seriously injured in a head-on collision on SR-9 outside Rockville.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, four teens in an eastbound Ford Taurus were attempting to pass an RV when they pulled into the path a westbound Plymouth Prowler, hitting it head-on.

The Plymouth’s driver, Timothy Chard, 51 of Washington City, was flown by helicopter to Dixie Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Erin Chard, 34, also of Washington City, was taken to DRMC by ground ambulance.

The four occupants inside the Taurus escaped injury. They include the driver, Conlan Finnerty, 16, of Hurricane and three passengers, Josh Brown, 18, Jordan Brown, 16, both of Laverkin, and Dillan Dotson, 20, also of Hurricane.

Investigators say all six people involved in the crash were wearing safety belts and that airbags deployed in both of the vehicles.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
