POWER COUNTY, Idaho, Oct. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A Tooele, Utah, man involved in a two-vehicle crash in Idaho on Saturday night has died of his injuries.

A news release from Idaho State Police said the accident occurred shortly before 8:22 p.m., as Dean Rottini, 57, of Tooele, was driving a 2004 Audi TT coupe west on Interstate 86 near milepost 53, about a mile east of the Arbon Valley exit in Power County.

Christian Saldana, 21, of American Falls, Idaho, was driving a 2012 Peterbuilt potato hauler, also west on Interstate 86.

Rottini’s vehicle collided with the rear end of the potato hauler, the release says. Both vehicles then came to a stop on the right shoulder of the road.

Rottini was not wearing a seat belt. He was transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, and Idaho police later reported that he had died of his injuries.

Saldana was wearing a seat belt and he was not transported.
