JUAB COUNTY, Utah, July 24, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people were taken into custody Wednesday evening after a pursuit on Interstate 15 from Juab County into Utah County.
Juab County Sheriff’s Sgt. Andrew Davidson told Gephardt Daily the incident began at about 6 p.m., when a deputy attempted to stop the pair — a man and a woman — for a speeding violation.
The suspects fled and got onto northbound I-15 at mile marker 207 with the deputy in pursuit.
Davidson said Juab County deputies and Utah Highway Patrol troopers were able to spike the vehicle’s tires and bring it to a stop at mile marker 219, where the man and woman were handcuffed and taken into custody without incident.
The incident is under investigation Wednesday night. The suspects’ ages were not immediately available, and their reason for fleeing was still unknown.
Davidson said they will be facing charges of speeding and fleeing from law enforcement, with possible other charges pending.
