TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 24, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Transportation is advising drivers to plan ahead for an overnight closure on eastbound Interstate 80 in Tooele County that begins Friday night.

Eastbound I-80 will close at the SR-201 interchange, Exit 102, from Friday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. to Saturday, Jan. 26, at noon while crews complete pavement repairs on the bridge over the Union Pacific railroad tracks, UDOT said in a news release.

“This overnight closure is necessary to allow crews to repair the pavement with new concrete and provide it ample time to cure, ensuring the repair holds up to the heavy traffic, especially trucks, that travel this section of I-80,” the news release said.

During this closure, all eastbound drivers will be detoured onto SR-201, then to SR-202 and back to eastbound I-80. UDOT recommends planning ahead for heavier than normal traffic and delays due to this closure and allow extra time to travel the detour route.
