SANPETE COUNTY, Utah, July 15, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A driver and passenger in a Dodge Intrepid died Monday when a pickup truck hit them from behind and forced them into another vehicle.

The incident happened at about 11:52 a.m. near milepost 61 of State Route 132, a statement from Utah Highway Patrol says.

“A 2004 Dodge Intrepid slowed to turn left into a residential drive,” the statement says. “A 2019 Ford F250 was also traveling eastbound behind the Intrepid. As the Intrepid slowed to turn, the F250 failed to slow down and struck the rear of the Intrepid.

“The Intrepid was pushed into the oncoming lane where it struck a 2017 Toyota Corolla that was traveling westbound. Both occupants of the Intrepid died as a result of the crash.”

Two people in the Toyota and one in the pickup “were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Troopers are looking at possible driver distraction as a contributing factor in the crash.”
