SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah, May 31, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police say an “equipment failure” led to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a truck Thursday near Spanish Valley.
A Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling south on state Route 191 about 10:50 a.m. Thursday when it experienced an equipment failure, crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a northbound Ford F-150, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist, a 61-year-old woman, died at the scene, according to UHP. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
SR-191 was closed in both directions while officials investigated the crash.
