SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 20, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway patrol has released the name of the man killed Tuesday morning when his pickup truck rolled on Interstate 15 in Salt Lake City near 200 North.
The victim was 26-year-old Johann Deaquiz Robles, of Murray.
The incident happened at about 6:03 a.m., Sgt. Cameron Roden, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily.
The pickup truck driver lost control, Roden said.
“We feel that black ice on the structure was a contributor,” he said.
“The pickup slid into the median and rolled several times. The 26-year-old male driver was ejected and died at the scene. He was thrown into the southbound lane.”
No other people or vehicles were involved, Roden said.
