SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah, April 19, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Baby girl Bexleigh had an unusual entrance into this world Tuesday morning when her police officer dad delivered her at the side of the road in Saratoga Springs.
A news release from Unified Police Department spokesman Lt. Lex Bell said at approximately 3 a.m., a UPD officer assigned to Herriman was at home with his wife when she began to go into labor.
“Her labor quickly advanced, so the officer placed his wife in his patrol car and hurried toward the hospital,” the statement said.
“As he was driving north on Redwood Road near 2100 North in Saratoga Springs, his wife informed him she was having the baby. The UPD officer pulled his patrol car to the side of the road and delivered his daughter at 3:28 a.m. today.”
Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and transported mom and baby to the hospital. Both are doing well and are now resting in their hospital room surrounded by family.
