RIVERDALE, Utah, Nov. 30, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police said Thursday a missing Riverdale man and his 2-year-old daughter have been located safe in Las Vegas and will soon be on their way home to Utah.
Lt. Casey Warren from the Riverdale Police Department said in a news release Las Vegas Metro Police Department worked with the family of Josh and Gabby Stinger, and they traveled to Las Vegas to assist in locating the pair.
Josh Stinger, 41, and Gabby have now been reunited with family members, and they will be traveling back to Utah in the near future, the news release said.
“Police haven’t identified a motive for Josh leaving to Vegas, but detectives will be speaking with Josh when he returns,” the news release says.
“At this point the father and daughter are safe and secure with family. Thank you to the public and media for putting this information out in an effort to locate the two safely.”
Warren said financial records from Josh Stinger were tracked to a Denny’s on the strip, and police then got in touch with the restaurant and showed them photos of Josh and Gabby. Employees at the restaurant then said they believe they saw the father and daughter.
According to a Riverdale Police Facebook post Tuesday night, Josh Stinger was involved in a minor traffic accident in Riverdale on Tuesday morning. Gabby was a passenger in the car.
Police say Stinger told his family he was returning home to his house with Gabby.
Both the father and daughter have medical conditions that require ongoing attention, and this was the cause for concern, police said.
More information may be provided as it is obtained at a later date, the news release said.
