SPRINGVILLE, Utah, June 21, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The family of a teenager who died in an early morning crash near Springville on Thursday has released her name.
Dead after the 1:30 a.m. crash is 17-year-old girl Kassidy Orme, of Santaquin. Orme, who was originally believed to be 16, was driving a 2008 Ford Focus south on Interstate 15 near Springville.
Her car drifted to the right, then struck a concrete retaining wall.
Orme then bounced into oncoming traffic, and was struck by another vehicle traveling at highway speeds. A crew from a passing ambulance stopped to render aid, but Orme could not be saved.
Utah Highway Patrol officials suspect drowsy driving may have been a contributing factor.
“Beautiful and sweet angel, Kassy Orme, passed away as a result of tragic vehicle accident on June 21, 2018,” the page says.
“Kassy just graduated high school and was off and running on to her next adventure and chapter in her life. She, along with her radiant light and smile, will be missed tremendously.”
