Update: Ogden PD identifies victim in fatal hit-and-run, suspect in custody

OGDEN, Utah, Oct. 31, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) – Police have released the name of the man killed late Wednesday afternoon in a hit-and-run crash outside an Ogden car wash.

According to a press release, issued Thursday night by the Ogden Police Department, the victim is Stirling Kelso, 63.

Police say Kelso was fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle while cleaning the car wash parking lot near 7th Street and Washington Blvd.

First responders were first notified about the deadly incident about 5:11 p.m. When they arrived they found Kelso dead at the scene.

The suspect in the hit-and-run has been identified as Christian Hernandez Palma, 21.

OPD says Palma has been booked into the Weber County Jail on charges including, a third degree felony hit and run – leaving the scene on an accident, driving without a license, and failure to maintain a safe and proper lookout.
