Utah DPS officials to test Amber Alert system on Sunday

UTAH, Jan. 12, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A test of Utah’s Amber Alert system is scheduled for this Sunday as part of National Amber Alert Day.

The exact time of the test has not been announced.

This will be the 32nd test of the Utah Amber Alert Plan, the DPS said in a news release.

“We need as many people as possible to get involved each time the Amber Alert is activated,” Utah DPS Commissioner Jess L. Anderson said.

According to the news release, “Utah has issued 48 AMBER Alerts since the plan was started on April 2, 2002. Most children were recovered safely and the alerts were directly responsible for bringing 38 children back home.”

The DPS has provided a video that explains how the Amber Alert system works.
