SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 23, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Jazz officials said they will be making a “major announcement” Wednesday afternoon.

A press release from the Utah Jazz said the announcement will be made at 3:30 p.m., just a few hours before the first game of the 2019-20 season, which begins at 7 p.m. The Jazz take on the Oklahoma City Thunder this evening.

The announcement will be attended by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Gail Miller, the owner and chairman of Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, Gov. Gary R. Hebert, Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski and Steve Starks, chief executive officer of Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.

Speculation is rife on Twitter that the announcement is that Utah will host the NBA All-Star game in 2023.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
