UINTAH COUNTY, UTAH – August 27, 2015 (Gepahrdt Daily) – A Fort Duchesne man died after losing control of his vehicle and hitting a truck head on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, Uriah Greyeyes, 29, of Fort Duchesne, was driving a 2008 Dodge Dakota eastbound on US-40 around 2:19 p.m. when he began to hydroplane. The rear end of his vehicle drifted into the westbound lane and was struck by a 2015 Chevrolet pickup pulling a trailer.
Greyeyes’s vehicle then spun and crossed completely into the westbound lane where it was struck head on by a 2009 Ford F-150, driven by 66-year-old Eva Richens, of Duchesne.
Greyeyes was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected and pronounced dead on scene.
Richens was wearing her seat belt and had to be extricated from her vehicle. She was transported by ground in critical condition to UBMC in Roosevelt, and later flown to IMC.
The driver of the Chevrolet was seat belted and did not need any medical assistance.
