BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 24, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A male driver who was operating a Utility Terrain Vehicle on a dirt road that crosses State Route 102 in Box Elder County has died after a collision.

Early Monday evening, the UTV driver was reportedly crossing the roadway to get to a church parking lot.

“A Chevrolet truck pulling a flatbed trailer was westbound on SR-102,” a Utah Highway Patrol statement says.

“The driver of the UTV attempted to cross SR-102 at a high rate of speed. The UTV failed to yield the right of way and impacted the right rear tire of the Chevrolet.

“The driver of the UTV was ejected and died on scene. The Chevrolet jackknifed and came to rest blocking the roadway. The driver and passenger of the truck were not injured.”
