SUNSET, UTAH – September 15, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Police have identified the man who was stabbed to death in an altercation Tuesday morning at a home in Sunset.

According to investigators, 31-year-old Tyler Eastabrook was found with a single stab wound at a home at 2300 North 250 West around 2 a.m. when paramedics responded to a medical call but discovered his body instead.

Police arrested 34-year-old Michael Ennis, who was known to not get along with Eastabrook, after he was found hiding in a nearby yard.

According to the probable cause statement, Ennis told officers he was staying with his ex-girlfriend, identified only by her last name of Liptrap, and when he came home he was told to leave by someone inside the home. Ennis did not immediately leave the premises and got into an altercation with Eastabrook who came to the home shortly after Ennis was asked to leave.

Ennis has told police he does not remember how the man got stabbed but was able to lead officers to the location of the knife.

The investigation is ongoing and it is unclear what charges will be filed, however Ennis is currently being held on a probation/parole hold at the Davis County Jail.

The Eastabrook family has set up a GoFundMe for anyone wishing to help the family at this time.
