WEST HAVEN, Utah, July 10, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A 12-year-old child died Tuesday afternoon in West Haven.
“On July 9, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., deputies from the Weber County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical call involving a 12-year-old child in West Haven,” the sheriff’s office said in a Tuesday night news release.
“Upon arrival, deputies assisted family members in performing CPR on the child until EMS arrived and took over. The child was transported to a local hospital by ambulance but unfortunately passed away.”
Investigators are working to determine the cause of death, which includes autopsy by the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office, as is routine in such incidents, Sgt. Sean Endsley said. No other information would be released, he said, pending completion of the investigation.
“The Weber County Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the family;” the sheriff’s news release concludes. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”
