WEST JORDAN, Utah, July 21, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — West Jordan police responded to the scene of an armed domestic violence call early Sunday morning, leading to a standoff between suspects and the SWAT team.

The call came in at about 1:50 a.m., and officers responded to the area of 4700 West and about 6900 South.

“When our officers arrived, they heard a gunshot coming from inside the house, and they were able to make contact and get four individuals who were later identified as victims out of the house,” WJPD Sgt. Andrew Hercules told Gephardt Daily.

“There were two suspects who remained in the house, barricaded, so our call was to call our SWAT team.”

Police secured a search warrant, Hercules said, which was served by investigators and the SWAT team.

At least one suspect was taken into custody “without any further incidents,” Hercules said.

“There were no reported injuries. Our Special Victims Unit is currently investigating the incident as a whole.”

Gephardt Daily will have additional details as they are released.
