CEDAR CITY, Utah, Oct. 28, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A home in Cedar City was declared a total loss Friday after a fire, fanned by high winds, swept through the structure.
According to a news release from the Cedar City Fire Department, crews responded at 3:01 p.m. to a house fire at 2169 N. Cliffrose Drive in the Fiddler’s Canyon area. When fire officials arrived they found the home fully engulfed.
A camp trailer belonging to the owners was also destroyed, and several adjoining homes had warped siding because of the intense heat, the release states. No dollar estimate for the damage was immediately available.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Cedar City Fire Department deployed three engines, a ladder truck, a heavy rescue truck and two support trucks to aid in the firefighting effort, according to the release, but the high winds hampered the effort to suppress the blaze.
No residents or firefighters were injured.
