WOODS CROSS, Utah, Aug. 5, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police responded Monday morning to a report of armed domestic violence.
Responding officers from the Woods Cross Police Department were alerted, en route, that shots had been fired.
An affidavit filed in the arrest of 54-year-old Wayne Parry says the victim told officers Parry had broken the window of her vehicle and grabbed her arm, “leaving red marks on her arm before taking the keys to her vehicle.”
Parry also took a phone from a witness who was trying to call police dispatch, and he discharged a firearm in the direction of the victim and witness, the affidavit says. The victim and three witnesses on scene said Parry was “heavily intoxicated.”
Multiple officers observed Parry consuming alcohol while armed. He is restricted from possessing a firearm after a violent felony conviction in 2013, the police statement says.
Officers ultimately were able to take Parry into custody at about 8 a.m. He was booked into the Davis County jail for investigation of:
- Possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a second-degree felony
- Felony discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony

- Criminal mischief, loss of $500 to $1,400, a class A misdemeanor
- Assault, a class B misdemeanor
- Damage/interruption of communication device, a class B misdemeanor

Parry was ordered held without bail.
