Nov. 19 (UPI) — Multiple people, including a police officer, sustained injuries Monday after a shooting at a Chicago hospital, local police said.
The Chicago Police Department’s chief communications officer, Anthony Guglielmi, said “at least one possible offender is shot” at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center.
He said one of the victims was an officer with the Chicago Police Department.
“He is in critical condition but receiving excellent care,” Guglielmi tweeted. “Please send your prayers.”
A Chicago Fire Department spokesman told the Chicago Tribune that officials sent at least 10 ambulances to the hospital in response to an “active shooter” situation.
This is a developing story.
