March 2 (UPI) — Officials are investigating the deaths of a mother and three children found in a West Brookfield home in Massachusetts.
West Brookfield police found four bodies Thursday evening in an upstairs bedroom of the home after they were called to do a well-being check on the family.
An adult woman, a 7-year-old girl and 5- and 2-year-old boys were discovered inside, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said.
Early said the deaths were being treated as “suspicious,” however, authorities would not comment on the nature of the residents’ deaths.
“I must remind everyone that it is very, very early in this investigation and there are a lot of questions that still need to be answered,” Early said.
Two of the children were identified as West Brookfield Elementary School students. Grief counseling is being made available at the school.
