May 6 (UPI) — An event poster created by a British designer for his friend’s pub has been branded both “lazy” and “brilliant” for its smartphone conversation design.
The poster for a music night at the Friars pub in Bridgnorth, England, went viral after a photo was posted to Twitter by Swedish designer Tom Wysocki.
The poster shows what appears to be a text message conversation between designer Dave Blackhurst and friend Tom Hughes, who works at the Friars.
The conversation involves Hughes asking Blackhurst to make the poster and list the bands.
Blackhurst said the poster is a bit deceptive — he doesn’t even own a smartphone.
“The irony is I don’t have a smartphone, I have a Nokia C2, so it took me about three minutes to come up with the idea but a few hours to put it together with an online message generator and Photoshop,” he told the Shropshire Star.
