Gun Store Owner Declares His Shop A “Muslim Free Zone”
INVERNESS, FLORIDA – July 21, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) –
An Inverness, Florida gun store owner has declared his business a “Muslim-free zone” in the wake of last week’s mass shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which killed five U.S. military personnel.
Andy Hallinan, the gun store owner, released a statement by way of social media Tuesday, saying the move was necessary to help protect American patriots. “I have a moral and legal responsibility to ensure the safety of all patriots in my community, and so immediately, I’m declaring Florida Gun Supply as a Muslim-free zone. I will not train those who wish to do harm to my fellow patriots.”
The Council of American-Islamic Relations is calling the move “blatantly illegal” and says it’s little more than a publicity attempt. The group is also calling on the Justice Department to investigate possible federal civil rights violations.
In the online video, Hallinan speaks while sitting in front of a Confederate flag. He says the “Stars-n-Bars” are not racist, but merely represent the “rich heritage of the South and the willingness of patriots to stand up against tyranny of all sorts.”
