May 11 (UPI) — First lady Melania Trump has made it her mission to stop children from bullying, but she’s doing more than inspiring their Internet habits — she’s also inspiring their names.
The name “Melania” is the fifth fastest growing baby girl name in the United States, Social Security Administration data showed Friday.
The agency said the name increased in rank from 1,650 in 2016 to 930 in 2017 — a jump of 720 spots.
No. 1 on the list is Ensley, followed by Oaklynn, Dream and Oaklyn.
Notably, an alternative spelling of the first lady’s name, Milania, was among the names that decreased most in popularity, dropping 241 spots.
Among boys, the fastest growing baby names, in order, are Wells, Kairo, Caspian, Nova and Colson.
The girls names that saw the biggest decrease in popularity from 2016 to 2017 were Julianne, which dropped 263 spots, Wendy, Milania, Montserrat and Nathaly. For boys, the least popular names were Riaan, Kylo, Kolby, Urijah and Kamdyn.
The Top 3 most popular girls names — Emma, Olivia and Ava — kept their ranking.
